You have put your phone on charging and even after 2 hours, it is half charged. Don't worry! It happens with everyone. The short battery life of the phone and the amount of time it takes to charge up the phone is the common cause of irritability for many. Though, there is no magic wand for charging your phone quickly, but these few tips and tricks will surely help you to some extent:
- Use genuine chargers only: You might have listened to it a lot of times, but didn't care much. I know, "Desperate times call for desperate measures". But seriously, if you really want to maintain the quality of a battery and want it to get charged faster, use genuine, matching charger only. Also remember, don't charge the phone with lower charging current rating with high current charger. Doing so may degrade the battery and its performance, thereby slowing its charging process.
- Turn off the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and infrared capabilities of your phone: Usually, people don't turn off the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or GPS after they have used it. This leads to the draining of the battery. So next time when you put your phone on charging, remember to turn these off first.
- Keep your battery at room temperature: Excessive heat can affect the charging ability of your battery. Keep your Smartphone at room temperature and remove covers and cases that might be trapping heat.
- Prefer wall charging instead of USB: USB port of Computer or Laptop does not deliver a constant amount of power. Thus, charging your phone via USB will be significantly slower than if you charge it with a proper AC power outlet. So, if you have the option between a wall charger and Laptop, always prefer the wall charger.
- Proper management: Put your phone on power saving mode. Reducing the screen brightness and screen time out timing are the other ways that help your device get charged faster. This trick is not applicable for charging only, but you can use it otherwise too to increase your battery life.
- Switch to Airplane mode or simply switch the phone off: This one is your discretion. But, switching the phone to airplane mode shuts off the transmitting function of the phone. It means no calls or texts or packets of data can come or go from your device. So, if you are okay with that, you can switch your phone to airplane mode. That will give charging a little boost. Or, simply switch your phone off if you are not expecting any incoming call and not utilizing the phone.
